How it Works
Variable Rate or Throttled Testing
Variable rate split testing allows you to significantly reduce or even eliminate financial risks associated with testing.
A traditional 50% - 50% A/B Split run test causes undue risk. Running a test like this puts 50% of your current profits at risk. What happens if your test candidate bombs? Your profits could suffer by 50%.
Vertster can help eliminate this risk. Variable rate split testing allows you to split your traffic at any percentage you would like.
Consider the following split test scenarios:
Have a landing page that is working well but want to improve it: In this case, your current landing page is your control offer. Testing at 90%/10% effectively minimizes your risk, while allowing you to test out new ideas in an attempt to improve your results.
This is a new offer, don't have anything to risk:
With a new offer, there is often nothing to risk. Running an AB split here will work fine, but as soon as your test begins to show a winner, consider modifying your percentages to give preference to the better performing variation.
